The problem is that there's over 100,000 pages on this wiki, nearly 200,000. It's pretty much impossible to weed out every single recast.

I am actually reconsidering the plan I originally posted because there's so many pages on the parody wiki. So what might happen is that we merge my recast wiki, scratchpad, and others into the parody wiki. On this wiki, parody/spoof will also be used to refer to recasts, because that's how it's always been.

Unfortunately, in regards to the obscure parodies (aka recasts/role swaps) past attempts to prevent recasts from being created on the wiki have failed Recasts are just synonymous with the Parody Wiki and there’s simply no way to make people separate the two.

I have been trying to encourage the creation of pages that pertain to actual parodies (have already done a couple myself) but as I said before, this wiki is primarily associated with recasts. (Spoofs of recasts are very much encouraged!)

but no matter how many reminders we put out, how many links to alternate wikis we provided, people kept making recasts on the Parody Wiki. It's simply impossible to stop people from making recasts here. It's always been a place for them, and the terms "spoof" and "parody" have always been synonymous with recasts.

Constant explanations regarding the difference between recast and spoof more often than not went in one ear and out the other. So while it is not at all ideal recasts are here to stay on the Parody Wiki and make up a majority of this wiki's content.

Don't be sad. This wiki is garbage. Its "parodies" are garbage, its filled with poorly written pages and poorly edited posters there are pages about extinct and living animals (this is supposed to the parody wiki not the biology wiki) and the users don't know what even is a parody. Hello Denosoar, unfortunately because the definition of parody on this wiki is too inseparable from Recast and Roleswap they are here to stay on the wiki. The mod team tried, but people redoubled their efforts to keep them up.

If trying to convince people on the wiki that it was only for actual parodies didn't work then trying to move them somewhere else won't work either. The Parody Wiki will always be connected to recasts.

Exactly what Unknown Tale said. We tried to separate the recasts from the wiki a long time ago but our attempts were futile as people just kept making recasts on the Parody Wiki no matter what we did to try and clarify that they were not actually parodies.
