instead giving the credit to Colette and himself and even gets rid of Remy after learning he was stealing food from the fridge to give to his rat colony. However, he later came to understand that he needed Remy after realizing that without Remy and his abilities to cook he would not have had the amount of success he had.

Linguini heads to the river to drown Remy. But Linguini halts and realizes that Remy is the creator of the soup and asks if Remy could help him recreate it. Linguini frees Remy but Remy escapes. However, Remy returns to Linguini, realizing that he can't let him down and that he saved him from drowning.

However, Remy gets confused when he sees Linguini bonding with Colette, the only woman cook in the kitchen, and crediting his talents to her. Remy gets attention from Linguini and gives him a wake-up call reminding him of Remy's true part in the cooking.

In his final appearance Remy, Gusteau tells Remy that he doesn't need to pretend, and that he never did. He was being his true self the whole time. Uplifted by these words, Remy is freed and rushes to Linguini's aid,

Remy then approaches the colony who was well-fed, asking Remy for food, to which Remy decides to give them the morsels and the taste the fresh food during the "Le Festin" sequence. Later, after Remy gives Linguini a hard times by puppeteering him under his toque while he is talking to the press about cooking for the customers,

However, he is a very kindhearted person, as shown when he would not drown Remy after looking into his eyes. he did hold some distrust of Remy, as shown when he woke up the next morning and saw Remy's bed empty and his eggs stolen,

At this point, Linguini is getting tired of Remy thinking that he is the only opinion that matters with him yanking his hair, Remy leaves after the two fight. Linguini later regrets his words and comes to apologize, only to find that Remy had let his entire clan into the food storage to steal food in revenge.

Linguini was about to drop Remy but desists, noticing that Remy could understand him talking. Linguini quickly figures out that he can not cook, while Remy can. Linguini releases him, and takes Remy into his apartment.

One day, Skinner sees Remy stealing his papers about Linguini being the owner of the restaurant. He pursues Remy on a motorcycle and sees Remy flee aboard boats. He continues his pursuit and is on the verge of catching Remy,

He also trusted Remy to blindfold him while Remy practiced manipulating his body to cook, despite causing him injury multiple times and defended Remy when the kitchen staff was about to kill him.

However, Skinner gets surprised when Ego actually likes it. He races to the kitchen to find that Remy and his colony of rats cooked the dish, but he gets locked in the fridge. Despite this, the rats had to let him loose and Skinner reforms and sits in the new restaurant, being more proud at Linguini and the rats.

Meanwhile, Anton Ego, a food critic whose negative review of the restaurant indirectly led to Gusteau's death, learns of its rising success and announces he will dine at the restaurant. After Linguini takes credit for Remy's cooking, he and Remy have a falling out.

However, Linguini catches Remy doing so and chases him and the rest of the clan out of the restaurant. Remy is later captured by Skinner, who, after knowing of Remy's exceptional skills as a cook, intends to force Remy to make a new line of frozen foods for him.

Skinner attempted to sabotage Linguini's efforts by capturing Remy, whom he discovered was the real chef. The kitchen fell into chaos as Linguini had no idea of how Remy cooked his dishes. Remy escaped and rushed to help Linguini,

On his first night as "garbage boy" at Gusteau's, he witnesses Remy improving the soup he (Linguini) had wrecked earlier. When he hides Remy from view, Skinner believes that the soup was Linguini's work. Remy attempts to sneak away from Linguini's scolding,

Food critic Anton Ego, whose previous negative review of the restaurant indirectly led to Gusteau's death, announces to Linguini that he will dine at the restaurant. After Linguini takes credit for Remy's press conference, he and Remy have a falling out.
