Vulcan was the blacksmith of the gods. He lived deep under the earth. Vulcan had great fires burning in his shop. "Maybe," thought Prometheus, "I can get some fire from him. Then I will take it to the earth. It will keep the poor people warm. I'll go see Vulcan no matter what Jupiter says."
