Linguini is also somewhat naive and trusts others too easily. He trusted Remy to help him with cooking (after Skinner threatened to fire him if he could not remake the soup that Remy made), which Remy initially took advantage of in order to be set free.

However, Remy gets confused when he sees Linguini bonding with Colette, the only woman cook in the kitchen, and crediting his talents to her. Remy gets attention from Linguini and gives him a wake-up call reminding him of Remy's true part in the cooking.

Skinner attempted to sabotage Linguini's efforts by capturing Remy, whom he discovered was the real chef. The kitchen fell into chaos as Linguini had no idea of how Remy cooked his dishes. Remy escaped and rushed to help Linguini,

Remy and Linguini overcome their language barrier, with Remy pulling Linguini's hair under his toque Blanche to control his limbs like a marionette. The pair successfully meets the challenges devised by Skinner and is able to serve his first ever dish.

Linguini admits that Remy is the real cook and that Remy's been controlling his actions from under his toque. The rest of the staff walks out, feeling deceived and betrayed by Linguini. Colette nearly slaps Linguini, but restrains herself before leaving in tears.

Linguini is nearly loss, believing he's gone crazy when he sees Remy nod at his words. Linguini releases Remy and takes him back to his small Parisian flat, giving Remy a room with a view of the outstanding Paris scenery. So Let's Do this thing?

At this point, Linguini is getting tired of Remy thinking that he is the only opinion that matters with him yanking his hair, Remy leaves after the two fight. Linguini later regrets his words and comes to apologize, only to find that Remy had let his entire clan into the food storage to steal food in revenge.
