Eventually, I was able to login using my phone and then could change the phone number in the Google account. But, we should be able to use the alternate methods as listed in our accounts!

But when I use the change password function, I use the current password to sign in again as requested, then it goes straight to a screen to 'Verify it's you' and the number is the number for the other person.

I don't get any opportunity to change the email. How do I change the number that is in the 'Verify it's you' so that it comes to me or how do I turn it off so at the very least I can change the password?

I just recently switched to a new device and new phone number. When I try to login to my Gmail account, the attempt is being denied because my new device is not recognized. I do remember the email and also the password very well. However, the given solution is to access my previous device or previous phone number, while I can't access both of it any longer.

I have been able to make Gmail accounts without phone verification for quite some time now. However, today, I tried to make a new Gmail account, and it said it wanted to "verify it was really me". It technically said a phone number was 'required' to make a Gmail account. Seriously? I have made accounts without a phone number before! Why is it all of a sudden making me add a phone number?

For one, I can't use my home phone. My parents won't let me use it. Two, I don't have a friend's or neighbor's phone number to use for the set up. Three, I can't use online SMS phone numbers, because I am either given "This phone number cannot be used for verification.", or "This phone number has been used too many times."

Nothing works for me, it has my landline as the verification phone, I change and it doesn't hold and doesn't send a verification code even though it says it is. I simply want to delete an old email I do not use and it will not let me.

It will not accept a landline and you know it! Plus, how can I use a friend's phone when I don't even have one in hand? It makes NO SENSE. The phone numbers you are using has or have been used too many times already. Either by yourself, or it may be a recycled number which has been used previously with Google. You don't need a mobile phone, you can use a friend's phone, or use a landline. Just be sure to remove that number from the account settings, once you have established the account.

I am STRUGGLING! Can't you tell? I have done EVERYTHING possible, and NOTHING HAS WORKED! I will not tell you again: I have created several accounts before, and the phone verification was optional. Now, I have to input a phone number when I can't use one? WHY?! I swear, Google is so invasive.

Four, even trying to make an account in Incognito Mode is not possible. It is annoying! This never happened to me before! I was able to create Gmail accounts with phone verification being optional, but now I am being forced to provide a phone number when I can't!

You're telling me to wait for 48hours when I am in need for access to it now? cant you see the urgency when I bought a number just to log into my email? For this alone Im gonna think again for using google services for important stuff in the future.. But I still thank you for replying..

Followed the instruction by entering the phone number it registered with, logged in with the right password yet google still NEED TO VERIFY my identification.. I also checked by using the "forgot password" to be sure whether its the phone number I'm quite using is the correct one, I even received the code but it redirects me to the suspicious activity crap..

Details of your account activity are not useful. Nobody in Google can access your account to check. Google will not ask about these. Has a hacker changed information? When attempting AR, you need to input the details you used when creating the account, or which you may have amended later.
